Glasgow-based music writer, specialising in electronic music, queer perspectives and Scotland’s local scenes

I’ve been writing about independent music for more than half a decade, including bylines in The Skinny, GoldFlakePaint, Loud and Quiet, The Scotsman, The Quietus, CLASH, New Statesman and a handful of DIY zines. I’ve interviewed some personal heroes, like Flying Lotus, A.G. Cook and Beverly-Glenn Copeland. I also write album reviews, columns and essays.

I’m always looking for new projects to be a part of, so do get in touch.

Beverly Glenn-Copeland

This goldflakepaint interview acts as a career retrospective for a boundary-pushing artist finally getting his dues. It was published in the magazine’s gorgeous Moses Sumney curated issue, and was a career highlight to write.

AG Cook: The Rates

An explorative interview with the PC Music figurehead on his favourite underrated acts both new and old. Cook’s perspectives on a range of topics from cover songs to simulation theory were drawn out of this great chat.

I also make music! I got into making beats a few weeks into lockdown, mostly as a distraction. I never expected to be at a point where I was comfortable releasing something full-length. But here we are.

Tape One was written with a trip to the highlands in mind, the friends and family I'm missing, and of course, the magic of a good night out.
