Reviews

I’ve written many shortform live and album reviews for publications like The Skinny, Loud and Quiet, GIGsoup, and my own personal blogs (formerly at verymuchmusic.com, now here.)

Though specialising in electronic genres, I’ve written about a wide range of artists and formats, from Arca and Mount Eerie to festivals and gig coverage.

Interviews

My interview experience ranges from biographies introducing a new artist, to career retrospectives celebrating legendary ones. I am especially interested in interviewing those who aren’t normally given the space in major publications, such as DIY producers and independents.

As for famous faces, written pieces on Flying Lotus, Sylvan Esso, AG Cook, Young MA, Beverly-Glenn Copeland and Haim.

Essays // Columns

Longform culture writing is one of my favourite kinds of writing. I’ve written personal essays, historical overviews, and scene retrospectives, as well as a couple of column series.

Some of my favourites are my six-part ‘relationship column’ for L&Q, and my many raging articles about the state of UK festivals.

From a personal essay on queer club life, in Loud and Quiet.
